Sears Home Energy Audit evaluates your home energy efficiency and provides you with a comprehensive improvement plan. During your Sears Home Energy Audit, the Sears Blue Climate Crew performs a series of tests that examine areas such as your home's heating and cooling system, insulation, and appliances.
On the day of the test allow up to 4 hours. The Sears Blue Climate Crew encourages you to watch and learn as they inspect and test for safety and energy issues that aren't visible to the naked eye.
Combustion Safety
With a combustion safety test, the Sears Blue Climate Crew checks for back-drafting, Carbon Monoxide and Natural gas leaks and other heating and cooling combustion safety issues.
Heating and
Cooling Efficiency
The Sears Blue Climate Crew assesses your home's heating and cooling efficiency. We determine the performance of your current equipment and whether it is cost effective to upgrade to a newer, more efficient, system.
Air Infiltration and
Duct Leakage
Through blower door testing, the Sears Blue Climate Crew determines the source and amount of air leaking into and out of your home. Similarly we check for leaks in your heating and cooling ("HVAC") ducts that could be causing inefficiencies with your HVAC system.
Insulation
By using Infrared imaging the Sears Blue Climate Crew identifies hidden gaps in your home's insulation that can be causing inefficiencies and uneven room temperatures. We also measure your current insulation levels and determine if adding more is appropriate.
Windows and Doors
By using Infrared imaging, the Sears Blue Climate Crew examines the efficiency of your home's windows and doors. Sophisticated analysis is performed to estimate how much you could save by switching to more efficient products.
Water Heater and
Appliance Efficiency
The Sears Blue Climate Crew reviews your appliances and identifies those that could benefit from an upgrade to a newer more efficient unit. A coupon book with discounts for purchasing new Energy Star appliances at Sears is included as part of your Sears Home Energy Audit.
Lighting and Base Load
The Sears Blue Climate Crew estimates how much of your home's energy is consumed through lighting and other base load items such as electronics. We then review your current equipment to determine ways to reduce energy.
Take Action Roadmap
Sears Blue Climate Crew consultant will provide a personalized roadmap for improving your home's safety, comfort, and energy efficiency. An estimate of the energy savings from any improvements is included.
Sears provides many of the home improvement remedies that may be recommended. We can provide services relating to heating and cooling systems, windows, insulation, air sealing, Energy Star® appliances, and more.
You are not obligated to use Sears for any recommended home improvements. If you do choose Sears, however, your $275 audit fee will be credited towards qualifying purchases.*
